Playa Vista Market Report: Sales and Escrows Neck-and-Neck and More on Playa Vista Elementary School!

With 15 active listings and 15 pending sales in the Playa Vista condo resale market, the pace at which new properties are entering the market and going into escrow are racing neck-and-neck at approximately the same rate.

Last week, during the Memorial Day Weekend, the traffic at my Sunday open houses at Esplanade #309 was robust. After a weekend of showings, the sellers received multiple offers. And after several rounds of negotiations, they happily accepted an offer yesterday. This is another example of how we, THE PLAYA VISTA SPECIALISTS, are working hard for our clients. Our well-designed marketing plan translates to a strong record of success in Playa Vista! Below, please find our pending listings from the past 30 days! Our current market share makes up 33.33% of all pending sales in the Playa Vista condo resale market, which includes additional transactions where we are representing the buyers.

One of the reasons for strong demand for homes in Playa Vista is Playa Vista Elementary School and the popularity of its STEM curriculum. The extras that our students receive are because of the money the parents’ booster group, Friends of Playa Vista Elementary School, have raised. This past 2016-17 school year, Friends of Playa Vista raised over $400,000. The money raised is used to fund programs in the following school year. This astonishing amount will fund the following plans that many less fortunate LAUSD schools do not offer to their elementary school age students:

  • Teacher’s aides
  • Visual arts license and supplies
  • Music instructions
  • Technology classes with Planet Bravo
  • Technology licenses and equipment such as iPads
  • STEM integrated Design Thinking/ Making instructions
  • P.E. with Coach Derek
  • Assemblies and buses for field trips (up to 3 times a year)
